SMEs ‘Embracing Cloud Telephone Systems’
Cloud telephone systems, which use VoIP to connect the physical telephone to the cloud telephone system that’s based offsite, are becoming increasingly popular among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
This is according to a report in Huddled, which noted that the additional benefits of a cloud telephone system far outweigh their traditional counterparts.
For SMEs, making use of VoIP and other technology is a great way to get more for their money. For a cloud-based system to work, you don’t need a huge upfront investment. You simply need a reasonable internet connection speed for the technology to function.
Because you pay a monthly rental fee to whichever of the small business VoIP providers you’ve selected, it makes it much more affordable for SMEs to get up and running.
The news provider also pointed out that these systems are easily scalable and much more portable than onsite phone systems, making it much easier to adapt as the business grows.
Further advantages to cloud telephone systems include the fact that you can choose your area code for your business phone number, and that you’ll have access to a wide range of business features, including voicemail, call forwarding and caller ID.
And it seems that SMEs are embracing this technology, with Huddled noting that the largest provider in the UK provides over 10,000 cloud-based phones per month, while BT plans to make its entire network IP by 2025.
There is a range of benefits to adopting a VoIP system, but particularly for small businesses. The flexibility of this system is one of the key factors boosting its appeal, along with the relatively low initial outlay to get set up.
