Hull Comes Top For Full Fibre Broadband Coverage
When it comes to full fibre distribution in cities, Hull has been named as the best in the UK for broadband coverage… so perhaps now is the time to start looking into business VoIP phone services and how you could benefit from this.
A new Thinkbroadband study has revealed that Hull enjoys 55.6 per cent full fibre deployment, which is well above the national average of 2.66 per cent, the Hull Daily Mail reports.
Discussing the news, portfolio holder for economic investment, regeneration and planning councillor Martin Mancey was quoted by the news source as saying: “We know how important good connectivity is for business, and for our residents. It is superb that Hull is the best connected city, which will enable businesses to operate as effectively as possible.
“Infrastructure such as excellent digital connectivity is a key part of having all of the elements in place to attract more global businesses to locate here, part of our Invest Hull strategy.”
The government is currently supporting investment as part of its Broadband Delivery UK scheme to provide superfast broadband coverage to 95 per cent of the country by December of this year. In addition, it wants to provide access to basic broadband (2Mbps) for everyone and also stimulate private investment in full fibre by the year 2021.
It’s possible to check if you have superfast broadband available in your area using this postcode checker. You can also use a handy Google Map to see what’s happening in your region and when it’s likely that you might soon be able to take advantage of full fibre.
