Over Half Of Households Suffer Broadband Issues
More than half of households in the UK (53 per cent) have experienced problems with their broadband service in the past 12 months.
This is according to a survey conducted by Which?, that also highlighted the providers that people had the most issues with. TalkTalk and BT customers cited slow broadband speeds as one of their main complaints, while for Virgin price increases were a particular bugbear.
Slow broadband speeds were the most common issue experienced, with over 20 per cent of those questioned stating that this was an issue.
Price increases, frequent connection dropouts, problems with a router and being left without a connection for hours or days at a time were the other issues that made up the top five complaints in the Which? survey.
The organisation recommended that anyone who feels that they are experiencing slow broadband speeds should use its free speed checker to make sure they are receiving the service that they’ve paid for.
Checking out the best broadband deals on offer on a regular basis is also important to ensure you’re getting the most for your money, Which? added.
Given that the majority of UK workers want to work flexibly – or already do – having a good internet connection at home is becoming increasingly important. A study by Timewise recently found that 87 per cent of people want to work flexibly, or are already doing so.
Researching voice over IP providers is likely to be one of the things your company needs to do if it is planning to give more people the opportunity to work from home.
